Pemberton win e800k ESA Grant

Pemberton has won grant funding for 800,000 Euro Project from European Space Agency – ESA and UK Space Agency to demonstrate #biodiversity monitoring in grasslands, with partners Ordnance Survey, Sainsbury’s and West Berkshire Council.

The large grant will enable the ground breaking demonstration into a fully transparent pipeline whilst measuring biodiversity and increasing trust in habitat condition data. The funding comes after Pemberton was awarded the ESA’s Best Feasibility Study in 2022 for a UFO project which saw the successful feasibility study of this exciting new technology.

The initial phase of data collection for this project was done over the delightful British summer across the UK and cantered on West Berkshire and Oxfordshire with the help of local landowners, Newbury-based charity BioCap Limited, Thames Valley Environmental Records Centre (TVERC) and West Berkshire Council. Ordnance Survey and Sainsbury’s have also joined this project alongside Easol to help design the next range of #AI centred products which will be immediately impactful for the UK’s transition towards #netzero and sustainable practices.

Over the past few years, huge financial institutions around the world have committed to take responsibility for their nature-related risks and the ecosystem services on which they rely. Pemberton has committed to provide the highest possible standard of data quality and transparency to unlock this new channel of funding for nature-based solutions.

Stay tuned for papers and results on how we’re helping facilitate #greenfinance whilst protect the bees and making a better world for all. 🐝
